FTC Disclosure & Advertising Disclaimer — Bluesky Multimedia and Uneven Horizon
Effective date: 19 August 2025
Contact: [email protected]
1) Scope & Who We Are
This Disclaimer applies to all content published by Bluesky Multimedia/Uneven Horizon (“we,” “us,” “our”) on blueskymultimedia.co.uk, its sub-domains, newsletters, social channels, audio/video streams, and any other platform we control (collectively, the “Sites”).
2) Material Connections & What That Means
We may have material connections with brands and merchants featured on the Sites. A “material connection” includes (without limitation): affiliate links; paid sponsorships; paid placements; cash or equivalent compensation; free or discounted products/services; travel or event access; store credit; revenue share; and equity or other ownership interests.
Consistent with 16 C.F.R. § 255.5, whenever a significant portion of our audience may not reasonably expect such a connection, we will disclose it clearly so you can evaluate the weight and credibility of our content.
3) Affiliate Links (No Extra Cost to You)
Some links on the Sites are affiliate links. If you click and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Prices are set by the retailer and are not increased because we receive a commission; prices may change independently at the retailer’s discretion.
How we label affiliate links:
- On pages: “(affiliate link)” or an equivalent, placed proximate to the link (not hidden in footers).
- In social posts: “#ad,” “#sponsored,” “(affiliate link),” or equivalent at or near the beginning of the caption or before the link.
- In audio/video: a verbal disclosure before or at the beginning of the segment containing the link, plus an on-screen/description box disclosure.
4) Sponsorships, Paid Placements & Paid Reviews
We publish sponsored content, paid placements, and paid reviews from time to time. When content has been paid for or we received any material benefit related to it, we will use prominent labels such as “Sponsored,” “Ad,” “Paid Partnership,” or “Sponsored Review.”
- Editorial control: Our opinions are our own. Advertisers may be given an opportunity to verify factual accuracy (e.g., specs), but they cannot require a positive opinion or control our conclusions.
- Native formats: If an ad is designed to match surrounding content, we will still label it clearly and conspicuously so it’s distinguishable as advertising.
5) Where & How We Disclose (Clear and Conspicuous)
To make disclosures hard to miss and easy to understand, we follow these placement rules:
- Web articles/pages: the disclosure appears near the headline or at the top of the content and again near the first monetized link or claim; not buried only in a footer or legal page.
- Short-form/social: the disclosure appears up front (e.g., “Ad,” “Sponsored,” “(affiliate link)”). Hashtags like #ad or #sponsored are acceptable when placed prominently.
- Video/Audio/Podcasts/Livestreams: a spoken disclosure before or at the start of the paid segment, plus a persistent on-screen or description-box notice. For livestreams, we pin or repeat the disclosure at reasonable intervals.
- Reposts/Syndication: if our content is republished, embedded, or shared, we maintain the disclosure or add one that is reasonably likely to be seen in that context.
6) Endorsements & Reviews
Unless labeled “Sponsored” or “Ad,” product mentions reflect our independent editorial judgment at the time of writing. We do not guarantee availability, quality, performance, or that your experience will match ours. Any claims, warranties, or guarantees about a product or service are made by the seller or manufacturer, not by Bluesky Multimedia.
7) Third-Party Sites, Claims & Transactions (Liability Disclaimer)
Links on the Sites may lead to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for:
- third-party content, statements, product claims, pricing, or policies;
- your interactions, purchases, or disputes with third parties; or
- any loss or damage arising from third-party sites, products, or services.
All transactions are between you and the third-party merchant. Review their terms, privacy policies, warranties, and return policies.
8) No Professional Advice
Content on the Sites is for general informational purposes. It does not constitute legal, financial, medical, or professional advice. You should seek advice from a qualified professional for your specific circumstances.
9) Jurisdiction & Governing Law
This Disclaimer and any dispute arising from it shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
U.S. audience note: For content directed to U.S. consumers, we also make disclosures in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission Act and the Endorsement Guides (16 C.F.R. Part 255). Where multiple regimes apply, we follow the standard that affords greater transparency to consumers.
10) Severability
If any provision of this Disclaimer is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect, and the invalid provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible consistent with applicable law.
11) Changes to This Disclaimer (Change History)
We may update this Disclaimer to reflect changes in law or in our practices. Material changes will be noted below and the “Effective date” will be updated at the top of this page.
